Notes:
Shy of some goals for today, but had a great time at the family reunion in Richmond.  Mary shot a short video of the Mount Olive Baptist Church Men’s Choir as they entered the church.  That’s the new pastor high-fiving the deacon in the pulpit.  All I can say is WOW!  I was knocked out by the message AND the music.  After listening to the three-piece (drums, keyboards and bass) lock in with the choir and enhance everything the choir and the preachers did,  felt like everything I’ve seen, worship music-wise, was a xerox of a xerox of a xerox of a carbon copy!  The lead singer for the Men’s choir reminded me of where all the great singers from the 60’s soul era came from, THE CHURCH!!!  Listening to him tells you exactly where Al Green, Sam and Dave, Jackie Wilson and Wilson Pickett came from. I got a strong message from that service. That message to seek my worship music path closer to my roots, closer to my life experience.
