Your Gifts – The Breakdown
Honor
your gifts, which come from God. Period.
7. Support
yourselves. Be
kind to one another. We all have the
same goal and if we’re helping each other be and sound our best, we always have
to let others know we believe in them.
We all have the same goal, right? It’s not meant to be a tough question, and it’s
one we should continually ask. When you
are aligned with the goals of the worship team, everything you’re doing feeds
into advancing the goals of the worship team.
Let your team members know you hear them musically, and appreciate what
they bring. I’ve said it before,
sometimes you just need to be there, so be there. You never know what people are going through,
you never know what people need, so keep your eyes and ears open.
Support means sharing knowledge. If you know a hack to make a song in rotation
easier to learn, reach out. If there are
some resources you use to manage the set list, share, explain, demo. Support is listening musically, and acknowledging
what they bring to the worship. It’s all
there to use, not shoehorned into “what they did on the track.” This is worship. This is the work of artists working together
to create an atmosphere for a Present Church.
Artists who work together get to know about each other
because they talk to each other.
Artists who know each other care about each other.
Artists who care about each other work together.
Artists who work together change everything they
touch.
