Your Gifts – The Breakdown
Honor
your gifts, which come from God. Period.
#3 God Is Glorified
God is glorified. No matter what, when you
use your gifts, God is glorified.
God is glorified by the grunt work of
ministry, not because of some invalid ethic of “earning” God’s favor by
sacrifice. No, God is glorified by the people who spend their week funneling
every extra moment into getting ready for the people who will come to God’s
House on Sunday. God is glorified by the
people who put in work so the worship on Sunday is the culmination of a week living
the word.
Yes, we have situations, yes, sometimes,
we just don’t feel it. That is the time you need to do it anyway. Make the
move! Get up. Shower. Get dressed and show up with a smile. Even in your weariness, God is glorified.
Sometimes you just need to be there. There are times, despite your careful forecasting,
scheduling and blocking out color-coded chunks of time on your planner, your
agenda has nothing to do with why you’re there.
Keep your eyes, ears and more importantly, your heart, open to what’s
going on around you. Many may have your
skill set, but God put you there for a reason.
God has no questions about your ability,
so why do you question? God has no doubt you are the right person for the job,
so why doubt? When you are at the
heights of your gifts, God is glorified.
When you make some of your biggest goofs, God is also glorified. The God Who Was bestowed this gift. The God Who Is witnesses our gifts in use and
the God Who Will Always Be sees your gifts play out in the mission to create
the Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth.
