January - Reviewed 2009 Michael Morwood footage shot in Indiana

January - Met with art agent (Drage Vukcevich) on the mechanic, details of art
shows. Advisory Board member Mark Molloy
was my back up for this meeting. I’m
working on an art show based on the paintings produced thus far for the
movie. There are many details to consider,
and while I think it will work, I have to pick the proper time. With the focus on editing, I may move the art
show to later in the year.

January – Re-digitized Michael Morwood footage.
Took notes on his tie to TQ through publishing. Also looked for connection between Morwood
and the Second Vatican Council.

January – Contacted TQ via phone at the rehabilitation center. He felt he would be home in two weeks.

new workflow plan means daily work on editing could move the work along. Lot of discussion of what I need to give up
(Law and Order (Criminal Intent), Storage Wars and Cops, among other things) to
make time for daily work.

Dies Irae
Moved
Dies Irae work to the Annihilator Guitar.
Bought a new strap and stand to accommodate the guitar’s shape. This will also be a “stand-up” playing
concern.

I
was reading “Common Prayer” this morning, and today’s lead off reading was
this:
On February 1, 1960, four college
students – Exell A. Blair, Jr., David Richmond, Joseph McNeil, and Franklin
McCain – uninitiated the first sit-in demonstration at a Woolworth’s lunch
counter in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The store manager ignored the protestors, hoping they would leave. The next day, twenty-seven more students came
to protest. By February 5, three hundred
students had arrived, igniting a mass movement of sit-ins for desegregation
throughout the South.”
Following
that, there was a passage from Psalm 27:
15 Show me your
way, O LORD;
lead me on a level path, because of my enemies.
16 Deliver me not
into the hand of my adversaries,
for false witnesses have risen up against me,
and also those who speak malice.
17 What if I had
not believed
that I should see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living!
At
church today, the message drew on Second Corinthians, and this passage stood
out for me:
2 Corinthians 12:10
10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in
weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For
when I am weak, then I am strong.
Deliver
me not into the hand of my adversaries...
Reflecting on lunch counter sit-ins, scripture accounts
of false witnesses and speakers of malice along with Paul’s delight in insults,
persecutions, and difficulty and it all seems so timely. I think about the phrase “Food Stamp President”
from Newt Gingrich and wonder how anyone can let this pass. Does anyone think such a characterization of
the President is devoid of racial invective?
…for false witnesses have risen up against me, and
also those who speak malice.
Unless you really search, those first four lunch
counter protestors, Exell A. Blair, Jr., David Richmond, Joseph McNeil, and
Franklin McCain, are nearly lost to history.
Ask the average American about lunch counters, sit-ins or even Woolworth’s
and you are likely to get a blank stare.
I hear Mitt Romney intimate and then retract/rephrase his father had
walked with Martin Luther King. The last
word was he probably did not. Given
Romney and the Republican Party’s not-even-approaching-thinly-veiled-disdain
for African Americans, especially the President, why even bother to attempt to
pander? I listen to Newt Gingrich,
describing Spanish as the language of the ghetto and wonder how he can expect
the Latino vote. I get emails every day
from Rick Santorum, asking me to contribute to any of his various “money bombs,”
and I am appalled at his level of demonization of the President (not that he is
any worse than any of the other candidates)
…in insults, in hardships, in
persecutions, in difficulties.
To illustrate the forces gathered against the
President, Sheldon Adelson, currently Newt Gingrich’s deep-pocketed benefactor,
is reported so committed to defeating President Obama he’s promised to provide
support to the Romney campaign if Romney becomes the Republican nominee. So what you’re telling me is that the person
who ponied up $10 million to form the Gingrich Super PAC “Winning Our Future,” financing
the latest round of anti-Romney television ads is willing to chase that money
with cash for Romney because he wants to defeat Barack Obama. Oh, and he’d like to play a larger role in
the Republican Party as well as conservative causes.
Okay, time to hop off my soapbox and get back the
Super Bowl. Before I sign off, I want to
give a shout out to the Occupy folks, especially Occupy Baltimore, who continue
their good works and show the difference between the 99%, who realize how we
are all connected, and the 1%, who are willing to pursue and prolong scorched
earth politics for America, with their own money, just because they want to “defeat”
President Obama. What do you think that’s
code for? Think about it.

forgotten about Ron Paul. I’ll need a
little more space to deal with him)
